FCM members renew our commitment to promoting our core values of Belonging, Compassion, Empowerment, Equity and Mindful Living and celebrate the inclusion represented in the incoming administration. In doing so, we firmly denounce white supremacy, racism, white privilege, and all forms of violence, in spoken and written language, that dehumanizes people and in turn democracy itself.
Members of FCM take a clear stand to promote acts of justice that uphold our Constitution. We honor those who have bent the arc of history toward justice and join them in keeping that arc of history bent.
For these reasons we join many Christians and others in denouncing the actions of Donald Trump and those of his followers who sought to overturn the democratic process and our values. We call on Congress to employ all possible Constitutional legal actions to bring them to justice and to make stronger policies that encourage practices intent on strengthening Americans' understanding of the values embedded in our expanding constitution, as well as the laws needed to maintain those promises.
